Networking Fundamentals
Understand how computer networks carry data, from cabling and switches to IP addresses and the internet, and build, test and document a small office network with confidence.

Plan, install, label and test copper and fiber structured cabling, apply general references such as TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801, and keep telecom rooms and pathways organized.
The Network Cabling & Infrastructure course in Doha, Qatar covers the physical layer that every network depends on. Participants learn the structure of a cabling system, from entrance facilities and equipment rooms to backbone and horizontal cabling, telecommunications rooms and work area outlets. The course uses widely recognized structured cabling standards, such as the ANSI/TIA-568 series and ISO/IEC 11801, as general references for topology, cable categories, channel limits and good practice, and explains how copper and fiber choices affect bandwidth, distance and future upgrades.
Training is highly practical. Learners terminate twisted-pair cable to T568A and T568B wiring, punch down patch panels, work with fiber connectors such as LC and SC, and compare single-mode and multimode fiber. Testing sessions explain wiremap, length, insertion loss and near-end crosstalk results, plus optical loss testing and OTDR traces. Safe working practice, labeling, documentation and rack and cable management are covered throughout. Organizations can arrange the course as an in-house program focused on their own buildings, projects and installation methods.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the subsystems of a structured cabling system and their roles
Use TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801 as general references for design and installation
Select copper categories and fiber types for given bandwidth and distance needs
Terminate twisted-pair cable to T568A or T568B and fit common fiber connectors
Interpret copper certification and optical loss test results, including OTDR traces
Apply labeling, documentation, rack and cable management good practice
Work safely with fiber, tools and equipment in telecom spaces
This course is aimed at people who install, inspect or manage physical network infrastructure.

Qatar's continued construction of offices, hospitals, schools, stadium precincts, transport hubs and data centers creates steady demand for well-installed network cabling. Every smart building and digital service relies on a physical layer that is designed, terminated and tested correctly. Skilled cabling professionals help contractors and facility owners deliver infrastructure that passes testing the first time, supports future upgrades, and underpins the smart-city and digital economy ambitions set out in Qatar National Vision 2030.
