Emergency First Aid at Work
Build the skills to manage a workplace emergency: assess the scene, perform CPR, treat an unresponsive casualty, control serious bleeding and handle shock until help arrives.
Learn to assess an emergency safely, give immediate care for bleeding, burns, fractures, sprains and choking, and keep a casualty stable until professional help arrives.
The Basic First Aid course in Doha, Qatar gives employees and members of the public the confidence to help an injured or ill person in the first critical minutes. Participants learn the DRSABCD primary survey, how to call for help, and how to manage common situations including first aid for workplace injuries, first aid for burns, first aid for fractures and sprains, and choking response and first aid. The aim is simple, safe action that protects the casualty and the first aider.
Sessions are hands-on: learners practice bandaging, applying slings, placing a casualty in the recovery position and delivering back blows and abdominal thrusts on training manikins. Short scenarios based on offices, warehouses, kitchens and sites help people rehearse their response before they ever need it. The course can be delivered as an in-house program for organizations that want staff trained together, with examples drawn from their own premises, first aid kits and emergency arrangements.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Apply the DRSABCD primary survey to assess a casualty and the scene safely.
Control external bleeding using direct pressure, dressings and elevation where appropriate.
Give correct first aid for burns, including cooling with running water and safe covering.
Support suspected fractures and sprains and recognize when immobilization is needed.
Respond to choking in adults, children and infants using back blows and thrusts.

Qatar's workplaces range from busy construction and infrastructure sites to warehouses, hotels, malls, schools and offices, and each depends on people who can act quickly when someone is hurt. The hot climate, industrial activity and large workforce make prompt first aid especially valuable. Employers are expected to keep first aid arrangements in place under occupational safety oversight by the Ministry of Labour, and building basic first aid skills across the community supports the human development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
