Understand when respiratory protective equipment is needed, choose the right RPE type and filter, and know why fit testing, pre-use seal checks, maintenance and clean-shaven seals matter.
The Respiratory Protection Awareness course in Doha, Qatar explains how respiratory protective equipment (RPE) protects workers from dusts, mists, fumes, vapors, gases and oxygen-deficient air, and why it only works when it is selected, fitted and used correctly. Learners compare filtering devices, including disposable masks, half masks, full-face masks and powered air-purifying respirators, with supplied-air devices such as airline sets and self-contained breathing apparatus. The course explains particle and gas filter types, protection factors in general terms and why RPE sits low in the hierarchy of controls.
A large part of the course is hands-on. Learners inspect respirators, practice putting them on, carry out pre-use seal checks, change filters and clean and store equipment. Qualitative and quantitative fit testing are demonstrated and explained, along with the reasons facial hair, glasses and poor sizing break the seal. Heat stress when wearing RPE is also discussed. Organizations can book the course as an in-house program using the RPE models issued on their own sites.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Explain when RPE is needed and its place in the hierarchy of controls
Distinguish between filtering respirators and supplied-air breathing apparatus
Select suitable particle and gas filters for common workplace hazards
Describe qualitative and quantitative fit testing and why they matter
Carry out a pre-use inspection and user seal check
Clean, maintain and store RPE and know when to replace filters
This course is for workers who wear RPE and the supervisors who issue or manage it.
Construction workers exposed to dust and fumes

Cleaning, inspection and safe storage
Recognizing damage and when to replace equipment
Managing heat stress and comfort when wearing RPE
Workers in Qatar's construction, oil and gas, manufacturing and facilities sectors often face dust, fumes and chemical vapors, and outdoor desert conditions add windblown dust and heat. Respirators that are poorly chosen or poorly fitted give false confidence, while hot weather tempts workers to loosen or remove them. A sound understanding of RPE helps employers meet Ministry of Labour expectations for protecting workers' health and supports the healthy workforce goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

It is a respiratory protection course in Doha, Qatar that explains RPE types, filter selection, fit testing, pre-use seal checks, and the cleaning, storage and maintenance of respirators. It shows why RPE only protects when it is correctly chosen, fitted and worn.
It suits construction workers, painters, sprayers and welders, plant and maintenance operators, cleaning staff using strong chemicals, storekeepers who issue RPE, and supervisors or HSE officers who manage respiratory protection programs.
Fit testing is demonstrated and explained, but an individual fit test must be carried out by a competent fit tester on the exact mask you will wear. The course is non-accredited and does not qualify you to use breathing apparatus in emergencies or confined spaces, which needs specific competence training.
Yes. It can be delivered at your premises or online and tailored to your sector, using the RPE models, filters and hazards found on your own sites, and scheduled to suit your shifts. Contact Leaders Training Center to plan it.

Recognize how workplace chemicals can harm people, understand routes of entry and exposure, and apply simple controls, PPE and first response steps when working with hazardous substances.
Read GHS labels and pictograms with confidence, find key information in the 16 sections of a Safety Data Sheet, and apply hazard communication rules to containers, inventories and team briefings.
Store and handle chemicals safely by segregating incompatible substances, using cabinets, bunds and ventilation correctly, and following safe practices for decanting, moving and checking chemical stores.
Prevent oil and chemical spills through good controls, and respond safely when one happens by assessing, containing and cleaning up with spill kits, then reporting and reviewing the incident.
