Design cloud solutions that are secure, highly available, scalable and cost-effective by applying well-architected principles and proven reference patterns across the major cloud providers.
The Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture course in Doha, Qatar teaches how to design cloud systems that stay available, perform under load and remain affordable to run. Learners work with well-architected principles common to the AWS Well-Architected Framework, the Azure Well-Architected Framework and the Google Cloud Architecture Framework, covering reliability, security, performance efficiency, cost optimization, operational excellence and sustainability. Topics include high availability across zones, horizontal scaling, loose coupling with queues and events, and disaster recovery objectives such as RTO and RPO.
Much of the course is spent on design exercises. In small groups, participants turn business requirements into architecture diagrams, select compute, storage and database options, identify single points of failure and justify their trade-offs in short design reviews. Reference patterns for three-tier web applications, microservices and data platforms are examined and critiqued. The course can be delivered as an in-house program, using an organization's real systems as design case studies for its architects and engineers.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Apply the pillars of well-architected frameworks to evaluate and improve cloud designs
Design highly available architectures using multiple availability zones, load balancing and health checks
Plan horizontal and vertical scaling with auto scaling, caching and content delivery networks
Use loose coupling patterns such as message queues, event buses and microservices
Define RTO and RPO and choose suitable disaster recovery strategies
Balance performance, resilience and cost when selecting compute, storage and database services
This course is for technical professionals who design or review cloud solutions and need a structured approach to architecture decisions.

Multi-region active-active and active-passive designs
Right-sizing, reserved capacity and storage tiering
Capstone design exercise and peer architecture review
As cloud regions open in Qatar and organizations move critical services such as online banking, government portals, healthcare records and energy operations data to the cloud, the quality of architecture decisions becomes a business risk issue. Systems must stay available, scale for peak demand and recover quickly from failure. Developing strong local cloud architecture capability supports Qatar National Vision 2030's knowledge-economy goals and helps organizations in Doha build resilient digital services.
