Construction Project Coordination
Learn to coordinate construction work effectively by managing RFIs and submittals, handling design and trade interfaces, running productive meetings, tracking progress and supporting HSE coordination.
Learn to apply lean construction principles on site, including identifying waste, using the Last Planner System, pull and takt planning, value stream mapping and continuous improvement routines.
The Lean Construction Fundamentals course in Doha, Qatar introduces the principles and tools that construction teams use to deliver more value with less waste. Drawing on lean thinking adapted from manufacturing, learners explore the eight wastes as they appear on construction sites, the importance of workflow reliability, and the percent plan complete (PPC) measure. The course explains how the Last Planner System connects master scheduling, phase pull planning, make-ready look-ahead planning, weekly work planning and learning from missed commitments.
Learning is interactive, with simulations, group pull-planning sessions using sticky notes and exercises that apply takt planning to repetitive work such as floors or apartments. Participants map the value stream for a typical construction process, identify constraints and propose improvements, and practice daily huddles and root-cause analysis. The course can be run as an in-house program for organizations that want to pilot lean methods on a live project with their own site teams and subcontractors.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Explain core lean principles and how they apply to construction
Identify the eight wastes in site and office processes
Apply the Last Planner System from master schedule to weekly work plan
Facilitate a phase pull-planning session with trade partners
Develop a basic takt plan for repetitive work zones
Map a value stream and propose continuous improvement actions

Plan-Do-Check-Act and sustaining lean practice
The construction sector in Qatar delivers housing, commercial towers, infrastructure and public facilities, often with many subcontractors working to demanding programs. Lean construction methods help these teams reduce rework, waiting and material waste while improving collaboration and safety. As Qatar National Vision 2030 encourages productivity, sustainability and efficient use of resources, approaches that make planning more reliable and site work more predictable are increasingly relevant to contractors and owners in Doha.

It is an introductory lean construction course in Doha, Qatar that covers construction waste, the Last Planner System, pull planning, takt planning, value stream mapping and continuous improvement, with interactive simulations and planning exercises.
Project and construction managers, site engineers, foremen, planners, subcontractor leaders and quality or improvement staff will benefit, especially teams who want more reliable weekly plans and better coordination between trades.
Yes. Lean tools such as the Last Planner System complement a critical path master schedule produced in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. The master schedule sets milestones, while pull planning and weekly work plans manage the detailed commitments needed to achieve them.
