Emotional Intelligence
Develop self-awareness, self-management, empathy and relationship skills so you can respond to pressure thoughtfully, read others accurately and build stronger working relationships.
Learn to prepare for, conduct and close negotiations, using interests, options and a clear walk-away position to reach agreements that protect value and preserve working relationships.
Negotiation Skills equips participants to approach negotiations with a plan rather than relying on instinct. The course explains the difference between distributive and integrative negotiation, and introduces core concepts such as interests versus positions, BATNA, reservation points and the zone of possible agreement. Participants learn how to prepare a negotiation plan, open credibly, make and request concessions, recognize and respond to common tactics, and close and document an agreement. The principles apply equally to commercial deals, procurement, contracts and internal negotiations over resources or priorities.
The course is built around negotiation simulations. Participants negotiate in pairs and small teams, then analyze what happened and why, so each exercise produces practical lessons. Cross-cultural negotiation is discussed with reference to the diverse business environment in the Gulf. Negotiation Skills is available as a public course in Doha, live online, or as an in-house program for organizations, with simulations that can be adapted to the client's own commercial situations.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Distinguish distributive and integrative negotiation and choose an appropriate approach
Prepare a negotiation plan covering interests, BATNA, targets and walk-away points
Open negotiations credibly and manage concessions deliberately
Recognize common negotiation tactics and respond to them calmly

Negotiators frequently deal with counterparts from many countries and business cultures. Skilled negotiation protects organizational value, supports fair long-term partnerships and contributes to the competitive, diversified private sector that Qatar National Vision 2030 aims to develop.
