Women as Leaders
Strengthen your leadership confidence and impact as a woman leader: build your personal brand, negotiate effectively, grow networks and sponsors, and plan your next career steps.
Learn to analyze your environment, formulate clear strategic objectives, build a strategy map and balanced scorecard, and lead teams to execute and review the strategic plan.
Leadership and Strategy Planning connects two things that are often separated: the analytical work of building a strategy and the leadership work of making it happen. Participants follow the strategic planning cycle from environmental analysis and setting vision and mission, through choosing strategic objectives and initiatives, to translating the plan into measures, budgets and team priorities. Throughout, the course stresses the leader's role in engaging people, aligning departments and keeping execution on track.
The course is hands-on. Participants apply tools such as PESTLE, SWOT, Porter's Five Forces, strategy maps and the balanced scorecard to a case organization or their own unit, producing a draft strategic framework by the end. Group critique sessions test the logic of each plan. Organizations can run the course as an in-house program, using it to support a real strategic planning cycle for a department or the whole organization.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Analyze the external and internal environment using PESTLE, SWOT and Five Forces
Formulate a clear vision, mission and set of strategic objectives
Build a strategy map and balanced scorecard linking objectives to measures
Translate strategy into initiatives, operational plans and budgets
Lead and communicate strategy so teams understand and commit to it
Monitor strategy execution through regular reviews and course correction
