Networking Fundamentals
Understand how computer networks carry data, from cabling and switches to IP addresses and the internet, and build, test and document a small office network with confidence.
- Foundation
Learn to gather requirements, design a scalable hierarchical network, plan IP addressing and routing, and carry a design through staged implementation, testing and handover.
The Network Design & Implementation course in Doha, Qatar teaches IT professionals how to turn business requirements into a working enterprise network. Participants learn to document user, application and site needs, choose between collapsed-core and three-tier hierarchical models, plan redundancy at each layer, and select the right mix of switching, routing, wireless and WAN services. The course treats design as an engineering discipline, where every decision about capacity, availability and security is recorded and justified so that the finished network can be supported and expanded with confidence.
Teaching is practical and scenario-based. Learners work through a design case for a multi-site organization, building a logical topology, an IP addressing and subnetting plan, a routing design using OSPF, and a migration plan with rollback steps. Lab exercises on routers and switches let participants configure and verify key parts of their own design before writing the handover documentation. The course can also run as an in-house program for organizations, using the client's own sites, growth plans and existing equipment as the working case study.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Gather and document business, application and technical requirements for a network project
Design hierarchical LAN architectures with appropriate core, distribution and access layer roles
Build structured IPv4 and IPv6 addressing plans with subnetting and route summarization
Select routing protocols and first-hop redundancy options such as OSPF and HSRP or VRRP
Plan WAN, internet edge and SD-WAN connectivity between sites
Prepare implementation, cutover and rollback plans with clear test criteria
Produce as-built diagrams and handover documentation for operations teams

Qatar's ministries, banks, energy operators, hospitals and new smart-city districts depend on networks that stay available and can grow with demand. As digital government services expand and new data centers come online under Qatar National Vision 2030, organizations need engineers who can design networks deliberately rather than patch them over time. Strong design skills help local teams deliver reliable infrastructure for major projects, support secure connectivity across multiple sites, and build in-country expertise that reduces dependence on outside contractors.

The Network Design & Implementation course in Doha is practical training in planning enterprise networks from requirements to handover. It covers hierarchical LAN design, IP addressing, OSPF routing, WAN and edge design, and the implementation, testing and documentation steps needed to put a design into production.
It is aimed at network engineers, infrastructure engineers, IT project staff and solutions engineers who design or upgrade networks. IT managers who review designs and approve network investments will also benefit from understanding how sound design decisions are made and documented.
You should already understand basic networking, including the OSI and TCP/IP models, IP addressing and common switch and router configuration. The course builds on that foundation and focuses on design choices, so it is not intended as a first introduction to networking.
Yes. It can be delivered at your premises or online and tailored to your sector, network environment, examples and schedule, for instance by using your own sites and expansion plans as the design case. Contact Leaders Training Center to plan an in-house session for your team.
