The Art of Oil & Gas Procurement
Learn how procurement works in the oil and gas industry, from vendor qualification and technical bid evaluation to long-lead equipment, expediting, inspection and in-country value requirements.
Develop practical storekeeping skills to receive, store, record, issue and count stock accurately, keep stores safe and organized, and reduce losses, damage and stock-outs.
Storekeepers safeguard materials, spare parts and supplies that can represent a large part of an organization's assets. This practical course covers the day-to-day skills of effective storekeeping: receiving and inspecting deliveries, recording stock, organizing storage locations, applying first-in-first-out and first-expired-first-out principles, issuing materials correctly, carrying out stock counts and investigating discrepancies. It also covers safe storage and handling, including chemicals and hazardous materials, housekeeping and the security controls that prevent loss and theft.
The course is hands-on and focused on routines participants can use immediately. Activities include completing goods received records, designing a simple bin location system, conducting a mock cycle count and applying 5S principles to a store layout. Participants also discuss how good storekeeping supports maintenance, operations and purchasing. Delivered as a classroom or live online program in Doha, it can also run as an in-house program for organizations that want training based on their own stores, materials and procedures.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Receive and inspect deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
Organize storage locations and bin systems for fast, accurate retrieval
Maintain accurate stock records and reconcile physical and system balances
Apply FIFO and FEFO rotation to minimize expiry and obsolescence

Industrial plants, utilities, hospitals, hotels, construction sites and government facilities in Qatar all rely on well-run stores to keep operations and maintenance on schedule. Because many items are imported and can take time to replace, accurate stock records and careful storage help avoid costly downtime and waste. Building the skills of storekeepers strengthens the frontline workforce and supports efficient operations across Qatar's economy. This course gives stores staff in Doha practical routines they can apply straight away.
