Build the core skills to plan and organize work, delegate well, motivate a team and lead people through day-to-day challenges, balancing the roles of leader and manager.
Leadership and Management Skills is a broad, practical program covering the two sides of running a team: managing the work and leading the people who do it. Participants explore how planning, organizing, controlling and reviewing fit together with setting direction, building trust and motivating others. The course treats leadership and management as complementary disciplines rather than competing ones, and helps participants recognize which one a situation calls for.
Sessions combine short input with case studies, group exercises and role plays drawn from typical workplace situations, such as allocating a heavy workload, handling an underperforming team member or communicating an unpopular decision. Participants leave with a personal action plan to apply back at work. The course can also run as an in-house program, using an organization's own policies, competency framework and real management scenarios.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Distinguish between leadership and management responsibilities and apply each appropriately
Plan and organize team work using clear goals, priorities and simple scheduling tools
Delegate tasks effectively, matching responsibility and authority to individual capability
Apply core motivation theories to improve engagement and commitment in a team
Communicate expectations, decisions and feedback clearly and constructively

Join a scheduled class at our training center in Doha or attend live online. For organizations, the course can run as an in-house program at your premises or online, tailored to your sector, case studies and timetable.
It is a practical program that develops both sides of running a team: managing work through planning, organizing and monitoring, and leading people through communication, motivation and delegation. It uses case studies, exercises and role plays based on common workplace situations.
It suits team leaders, line managers, project coordinators and technical specialists who have taken on management responsibilities and want a rounded set of leadership and management skills they can apply immediately with their teams.
This course assumes participants already manage people or projects and want to broaden and strengthen their approach. A new manager course focuses more on the transition into a first management role, such as moving from peer to manager and setting up the first months in post.
