Learn to run production Linux servers: manage systemd services, storage with LVM, users and sudo, networking, firewalls, SELinux, scheduled jobs, Bash scripts and logs for troubleshooting.
The Linux System Administration course in Doha, Qatar is for people who already know the Linux command line and now need to keep servers running reliably. It covers the daily work of an administrator: controlling services with systemd, reading logs with journalctl, partitioning disks and building LVM volumes, managing users and sudo rights, configuring network interfaces, and protecting hosts with firewalld, SELinux and hardened SSH. Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu Server are used side by side.
Learning is lab-driven. Participants build and break their own virtual servers, then diagnose boot problems, full file systems, failed services and permission errors the way they would on the job. Automation is introduced through Bash scripts, cron and systemd timers so routine tasks stop depending on memory. Each module closes with a practical task that pulls the skills together. The course can be delivered as an in-house program aligned with the distributions and standards your organization already uses.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Manage services, targets and the boot process using systemd and systemctl
Diagnose problems using journalctl, log files and system resource tools
Configure disks, partitions, file systems and LVM logical volumes
Administer users, groups, password policies and sudo privileges
Configure networking, firewalld or ufw rules and secure SSH access
Apply SELinux or AppArmor policies to confine services
Automate routine tasks with Bash scripts, cron and systemd timers
This course is aimed at IT professionals who use Linux regularly and are responsible, or will soon be responsible, for running Linux servers.

As Qatar expands its data centers, cloud services and digital government platforms, organizations in banking, energy, telecom and healthcare depend on Linux servers that must stay available and secure. Qatar's National Cyber Security Agency promotes sound security practice across critical sectors, and well-run Linux administration, from patching to access control, is part of meeting those expectations. Skilled administrators also support the knowledge-based economy goals set out in Qatar National Vision 2030.
