Organizational Design and Change Management
Learn to design organizational structures that fit strategy and lead the resulting change: assess options, define roles and spans of control, and manage people through transition.
Learn to supervise teams day to day and develop people through coaching and mentoring, using the GROW model, situational leadership and structured feedback on the job.
This course brings together the supervisor's two core responsibilities: getting the work done safely and to standard each day, and developing the people who do it. Participants explore the supervisory role, situational leadership and the practical routines of supervision, then build skills in coaching and mentoring as everyday tools for improving performance and growing capability. The emphasis is on conversations that help staff think, learn and take ownership rather than simply follow instructions.
Most of the course is spent practicing. Participants run coaching conversations with the GROW model in pairs and triads, design a mentoring agreement, practice giving feedback and plan on-the-job development for a team member. Observers give structured feedback after each practice round. The course can be delivered as an in-house program for supervisors, aligned with an organization's competency framework, performance review process and frontline realities.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the supervisor's responsibilities for work, people and standards
Adapt supervisory style to each person's competence and commitment
Conduct coaching conversations using the GROW model and powerful questions
Set up and sustain effective mentoring relationships
Give feedback that reinforces good performance and corrects problems

Frontline supervisors play a central role in Qatar's construction, energy, facilities, logistics, healthcare and hospitality sectors, where teams are often large, multinational and working to demanding safety and service standards. Supervisors who coach and mentor, rather than only instruct, raise performance and retain good staff. Coaching and mentoring are also widely used to develop national talent and transfer knowledge between generations of employees, in line with the human development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
