Learn the essentials of VMware vSphere: install and configure ESXi hosts, manage them through vCenter, create virtual machines, set up storage and networking, and use vMotion, HA and DRS.
The VMware Virtualization Fundamentals course in Doha, Qatar introduces VMware vSphere, the server virtualization platform from VMware, which is now part of Broadcom. Participants learn how the ESXi hypervisor runs on physical hosts, how vCenter Server brings hosts together for central management, and how the vSphere Client is used for everyday administration. The course covers creating and managing virtual machines, configuring datastores and virtual switches, and the cluster features that keep workloads running.
Learning is built around guided labs. Learners install and configure an ESXi host, deploy virtual machines and VMware Tools, work with templates, snapshots and content libraries, connect VMFS and NFS datastores, and build standard and distributed switches. They then move running workloads with vMotion and configure vSphere HA and DRS on a cluster. Roles, permissions and basic monitoring complete the picture. The course is also available as an in-house program for teams running VMware in production.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the vSphere architecture, including ESXi, vCenter Server and the vSphere Client
Install and configure ESXi hosts and add them to vCenter Server
Create, configure and maintain virtual machines, templates and snapshots
Configure VMFS and NFS datastores and standard and distributed switches
Migrate workloads with vMotion and Storage vMotion
Configure vSphere HA and DRS clusters for availability and load balancing
Manage roles, permissions and basic performance monitoring in vSphere

VMware vSphere is widely used in the private data centers of banks, government entities, energy companies and healthcare providers in Qatar. As these organizations modernize infrastructure and support the digital services promoted by Qatar National Vision 2030, they need administrators who can operate vSphere reliably and secure it well. Recent licensing changes under Broadcom have also prompted many teams to review their environments, making solid vSphere knowledge especially useful for planning decisions.
