Human Resources (HR) Management
Build a working understanding of the core HR functions, from workforce planning and recruitment to performance, employee relations and policy, and apply them to day-to-day people management.
Identify genuine training needs at organizational, job and individual level, and evaluate whether training has changed behavior and results using recognized models such as Kirkpatrick and ROI analysis.
This Training Needs Analysis and Evaluation course covers the two ends of the training cycle that are most often skipped. Participants learn how to carry out a training needs analysis that distinguishes genuine skill gaps from problems that training cannot fix, using organizational, task and individual levels of analysis. They then learn how to evaluate training using recognized frameworks, including the Kirkpatrick four levels and return on investment methods, so that organizations can demonstrate whether learning has made a difference.
The course is practical and evidence-focused. Participants design interview guides and surveys, analyze sample performance data, prioritize needs and write a short needs analysis report. For evaluation, they build reaction and learning measures, plan follow-up for behavior change and work through a simple ROI calculation. Delivered as an in-house program, the course can use the organization's own competency framework, appraisal data and training records.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Distinguish training needs from performance problems with other causes
Conduct needs analysis at organizational, job and individual levels
Collect needs data using surveys, interviews, observation and performance records
Prioritize and report training needs to decision-makers

Organizations in Qatar invest in training as part of the human-development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030 and their workforce nationalisation goals. Government entities, energy companies, banks and healthcare providers increasingly want evidence that this investment targets the right skills and improves performance. Training professionals who can analyze needs rigorously and evaluate results credibly help leaders direct budgets to where they matter and show how development programs contribute to organizational and national capability.
